Responsible for managing projects under the Economic Empowerment Initiative at Latino Community Fund of Washington State. My goal is to empower both, employers and workers by providing them with the right tools to get ahead. I facilitate relevant and meaningful business trainings and peer-to-peer support to small business owners and entrepreneurs with plans for long term creative/innovative businesses that benefit the community.
In partnership partnership with the Seattle Office of Labor Standards and other community partners, I support small businesses and businesses owned by low-income individuals and historically disenfranchised communities. I provide outreach, education and technical assistance to Seattle’s small businesses about their responsibilities under Seattle’s Minimum Wage, Wage Theft, Paid Sick and Safe Time, Fair Chance Employment and Secure Scheduling Ordinances. In addition, through the Fair Work Center Collaborative, I conduct Know Your Rights outreach and education for workers. Our community is stronger when everyone works together.
One of our many goals is to empower Latinas in Washington State to become leaders through education, leadership and community service. I have the incredible honor of managing and growing the Hispanic Seafair Scholarship Program for Women. From facilitating the application process, mentoring scholarship recipients, planning events, and collaborating with community leaders to increase scholarship funds.
